With over a decade of professional experience as a multi-instrumentalist, musical director, composer and arranger, Sam Boon has forged a diverse sound, collaborating with some of Australia, and the world’s, great acts.

After several years of touring nationally and internationally as a founding member of Melbourne’s own Saskwatch, Sam was invited to arrange and lead the horn section for platinum-selling artist Guy Sebastian’s first ever stadium tour of Australia. Since then, Sam has played arranged or recorded for the likes of TLC, The Rubens, Ocean Alley, The Teskey Brothers, Thndo, Gary Pinto, Mia Wray, Wilsn, Vance Joy, Big Words, Sinj Clarke, Fulton St, Ex-Olympian, Dorsal Fins, The Damien Ellis Quartet and Adam Simmons’ Creative Music Ensemble. As an arranger, orchestrator and composer Sam has had works premiered at the Melbourne Recital Centre as part of the Melbourne Festival and his original orchestrations and arrangements forming the entire program of the 2019 Ballarat Carols by Candlelight.

Sam’s playing, arrangements and/or compositions feature on multiple album recordings for artists, such as Ella Thompson, Little May, Coda Chroma, Big Words, Mia Wray, Nat Vazer, Didirri, Sinj Clarke, Saskwatch, Mietta, Liam McGorry, Ryan Ritchie, Damien Charles and many more. Sam offers a wide breadth of musical experience, artistry and enthusiasm to every creative project he undertakes, making him one of the most sought after collaborators in the Australian music scene. In 2020 Sam is launching his own new platform, Artists in Music Ensemble, to develop multi-disciplinary, collaborative new works with an exciting array of artists.

In 2022 Sam opened his new studio “Sunny South” In Ballarat.
