2020 - Collaboration with Arun Roberts (Dirt Hand) and Anastasia La Fey (her work is pictured above)

A new creative ensemble directed by saxophonist, composer, and arranger Sam Boon. Artists in Music Ensemble draws on Melbourne’s diverse music scene to bring together a community of inspired and passionate musicians across disparate genres and scenes, providing them with an opportunity to collaborate and experiment. Consisting of a broad range of established artists with backgrounds and experience in many different genres, including, jazz, rock, soul, avant-garde, popular and classical, Artists in Music Ensemble aims to give each of its members a safe space to collaborate, compose, create and transcend boundaries, both as individuals and as a collective body developing new work.

A new band of old mates, coming together to play loose-times soul, blues and party jazz to make you feel good (and possibly hungover the next day). So come down, skull a pint and get loose to the sweet dulcet tones of Son of a Gunzel.
